About this Product

It may have some minor scratches or visual imperfections but this in no way affects the functionality of the console. Upgrade to include a second controller or your choice of games!

Mattel Intellivision- Features

Have a part of gaming history with Mattel’s first ever console. This very retro and nostalgic system is for sure one for the collectors

SUPERIOR SOUND AND GRAPHICS

Challenging its competitor, Atari 2600, Intellivision boasted with greater features through a side-by-side comparison of golf games. The Atari’s games had a blip sound and cruder graphics, while the Intellivision featured a realistic swing sound and striking of the ball, and graphics that suggested a more 3D look.

THOUGH OUT SOFTWARE

Inside every Intellivision is 4K of ROM containing the Exec software. It provides two benefits: reusable code that can effectively make a 4K cartridge an 8K game, and a software framework for new programmers to develop games more easily and quickly. It also allows other programmers to more easily review and continue another's project.

Mattel Intellivision- Games

Between 1979 and 1989, a total of 133 titles were released for the system, featuring a lot of household names such as King Kong or Pac-Man.

DEMON ATTACK

This fixed shooter takes place on the ice planet Krybor where the player uses a laser cannon to destroy legions of demons that attack from above. Visually, the demons appear in waves similar to other space-themed shooters, but individually combine from the sides of the screen to the area above the player's cannon.

DONKEY KONG

The originally unnamed character, who was later called Jumpman, then Mario, must rescue a damsel in distress, Pauline, from the titular giant ape, Donkey Kong. An early example of the platform game genre, the gameplay focuses on maneuvering the main character across a series of platforms to ascend a construction site, all while avoiding or jumping over obstacles.

ATLANTIS

In this fixed shooter the player controls the last defenses of the City of Atlantis against the Gorgon invaders. The enemy ships pass back and forth from left to right four times before they enter firing range, giving an ample opportunity to blow them away.

PITFALL

The player controls the character (Pitfall Harry) through a maze-like jungle in an attempt to recover 32 treasures in a 20-minute time period. Along the way, players must maneuver through numerous hazards, including pits, quicksand, rolling logs, fire, rattlesnakes, scorpions, and crocodiles. Harry may jump over or otherwise avoid these obstacles by climbing, running, or swinging on vines.

FROGGER

The objective of the game is to guide a frog to each of the empty "frog homes" at the top of the screen. The game starts with three, five, or seven frogs, depending on the settings used by the operator. Losing them all ends the game.

BURGER TIME

The object of the game is to complete a number of hamburgers while avoiding enemy foods. The player controls the protagonist, chef Peter Pepper, with a four-position joystick and a button. Each board consists of a maze of planks and ladders in which giant burger ingredients (buns, patties, lettuce/tomato, etc.) are laid out.
