Spider-Man

Spider-Man (also known as Spider-Man: The Movie) is a 2002 action-adventure video game based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man. Made to promote of the movie of the same name, it was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube and Game Boy Advance on April 16, 2002 in North America (two weeks before the film's release), and June 7 in Europe. While the game directly adapts the plot of the movie it is based on, it also builds upon it by including scenes and villains not appear in the movie. However, Tobey Maguire and Willem Dafoe reprise their roles from the movie , as Spider-Man and the Green Goblin, respectively, while Bruce Campbell, who played a wrestling ring announcer in the movie, narrates the game's tutorial and bonus levels.

The game was publish by Activision in North America and co-publish by Capcom in Japan. It was primarily develop by Activision's then recently-acquire subsidiary, Treyarch, who had previously ported Neversoft's 2000 Spider-Man video game to Windows and Dreamcast. Upon release, it receive generally positive reviews, although some criticize its length, voice acting, and camera control, and quickly became a best-seller. But after the game's success, Treyarch became the lead developer of all major Spider-Man titles publish under Activision until 2008, including two sequels Spider-Man 2, the video game base on the 2004 movie of the same name. And Spider-Man 3, the video game base on the 2007 movie of the same name.
